Isak’s Update
A short update this month:
“I have been reflecting on the Door2Door fundraising walk I completed last month, and have been struck by the similarities to youth work and ministry that have been evoked in me.
In a way, I considered the walk a type of pilgrimage between all our centres, a journey reflecting on the impact of The Door’s work. It was also reflective of the often long, slow journey that is ministering to young people. It takes patience, perseverance, and appreciation for the beauty around to make meaningful progress on a journey, and this is true for discipling young people as much as a long walk.
It was a real joy to be joined by my mentee for the second day of the journey, and every bit of support was a reminder that life is better in community and connection with each other.
Don’t miss the other article in this month’s newsletter – an interview with a young person who shadowed me for their work experience week, reading what they said really touched me and I hope it touches you too. Isak
